My WEBSHOTS account has finally hit the 1,000,000 views, well 1,000,550 views actually. It’s been a long time coming and those last few views seemed to take for ever to get there. but I’m there at last.
I’ve created a special album with a single image in it dedicated to all the people who have viewed my work. You can visit that album by clicking here.

So I guess it’s onto the next million – now how long is that going to take?
Things continue to move my way on Zazzle with the sale of a set of post cards of my Bubble Wrap Psychedelia creation.
I like bubble wrap but lets face it the plain old monotone bubble wrap is not so pleasing to the eye. so I set about creating my very own ‘brighter’ version and this is what I ended up with. People seem to like it and they do make cool post cards.
Zazzle also provide other options for this creation and will do huge poster prints on request. Imagine a multi coloured psychedelic print on your wall. OK so it’s a bit of a marmite moment – you’re either going to love it or hate it.
So enjoy or not !

I must say I’m impressed with Fotolia as an organisation that I can work with. Firstly lets give you an insight into what Fotolia actually is all about. This next bit is taken directly from their site in the About Us section.
Fotolia is the first worldwide social marketplace for royalty free stock images, allowing individuals and professionals to legally buy and share stock images and illustrations.
Fotolia offers the largest image bank of free and affordable royalty free photos and illustrations perfect for any medium, web or print.
Photographers and designers constantly update Fotolia with thousands of new photos and illustrations each day, while photographers and designers receive commission from each photo sold and revenue from advertising on the free section.
Similar to the music or film industry, we believe that every artist’s (photographers and designers) image is a work of the soul and protected by intellectual property rights.
Fotolia is convinced that the principle reason for illegal pirated use of protected images is mainly due to the high price barrier created by other agencies.
Fotolia provides a compromise between photographers and buyers, by protecting a photographer’s intellectual property rights and offering high commissions, while legally lowering the price barrier so that everyone may enjoy/afford these beautiful images.
Fotolia challenges the traditional closed agency model by offering the opportunity to monetize their talents to everyone, hobbyist or professional, whatever their fame, status, or size of portfolio may be.
Thanks to our collaborative online model, Fotolia is able to offer individuals and professionals (advertising agencies, press, small business, graphic artists, designers) the greatest image collection in the world for free or as little as £ 1 .
So now you have an idea what they’re about It’s worth telling you why I’m so impressed.
I love creating art/graphics digitally. I’ve been into that sort of thing for a long time now and I’ve created thousands of images for desktop wallpaper over the years under my WEBSHOTS Id pete1111- Check them out if you want some crazy whacked out stuff for your computer desktop. They are all free so you’ve nothing to lose.
But then it occurred to me that I could perhaps use my creative juices to make a little extra income. Searching Google for a while delivered this company called Fotolia and I soon realised after reviewing their site they were the ones for me.
- I only have to worry about the creative element. They provide the business side.
- They manage all the accounts.
- They encourage contributor communications.
- They provide affiliation tools.
- They handle advertising.
- They cover a huge subject and concept range allowing me as a niche creative to get involved.
Results so far have been good, my work is up for display and I’m getting a fair amount of interest in terms of people viewing my creations and a few sales already has kept me boyant in using Fotolia as a means to generate some additional income. I’m looking at maybe a two to three year journey here in order to create sufficient images for my portfolio and for the buying community out there to get to know my creations. I’m in it for the long term but hey I love creating these things anyway so it’s no chore.
I’ve been working on some construction pieces recently and thought I’d share just a small sample with you.
I like these forms as they’re a throw back to my old engineering days. They are constructions, things that could be made and engineered. they feel somehow real and yet they are only real in my own imagination. They do exist of course but only in binary form, it is only when the correct algorithmic code is applied do you get to see what the construction is all about.

How easy is it to make money online? By that I mean using the Internet to generate an income stream by any means.
I did a Google search on ‘Make money online’ and it came back with 163,000,000 results. So not too many to scroll through to find one that actually works!
I’m not going to scroll through any of them, seems a total waste of my time and to me time is a precious commodity something that money can’t actually buy. So where do I start?
First I set some rules to myself.
- I don’t want to put too much effort into this venture. This needs to be something that fits in with my life already; I don’t want to add to my life’s workload, I want to work with it to generate some additional income.
- I don’t want to invest too much money into this venture. The whole point is to make money not to spend it.
Well lets start with what ‘thing’ do I have that someone else might wish to have and are prepared to pay me money for?
Well my main interests in life (apart from my family) are:
Creating digital art
Creating music
Now my music creations are fun to do, take a look at my music TAB and have a listen. Probably not commercial so I’ll discount that one.
My digital art creations are a possible one here. I enjoy creating them, in fact have been creating them for years and posting them for free on WEBSHOTS, check them out here and view/download as many as you like.
Most people use them for their desktop wallpaper. As long as you’re not using them for commercial ventures feel free to use them for what ever you like. If you’re using them for your web site then a little mention of me as the creator and perhaps even a link to my site would be cool.
So you know I’m into creating digital art but I also like the corporate side of things, brand is important and becoming more important as the global reach of the Internet becomes critical to business success. So I looked around and saw an advert in my Computer Arts magazine and they were offering Royalty Free images for sale. The name of this company is Fotolia who I find is actually quite a big player in the Micro Stock market place. A quick visit to their site, a read of the T&C’s and I’m in, all signed up ready to rock and roll.
So I hunt through my creations on my hard drive and load up a few. Some get rejected but most get through their approval panel and I’m now ready to start making money using the internet doing something I do anyway. So for me this is a win win situation.

This little FLASH advert is showing off some stuff I designed for Zazzle using my art work and a few other things floating around my head at the time.
Just finished a draft of the Gordon Brown vs the Hip Hop Massive - a new song where I’ve taken the Gordon Brown acceptance speech and mixed in some hip hop and other stuff. Pop over to my musc page and under the Samples section you’ll find the song. Hope you like it.
Just uploaded a couple of new songs into the Samples sub page linked to the main Music tab of the site. The first is called Chilled Out Nimbledob, a song which I hope relaxes your soul. The second song is an attempt at creating a movie theme tune, lots of orchestral instruments to bring in the big screen atmosphere. Enjoy!
